Premise [ edit] After he and his wife are suddenly assassinated, Marine Ray Garrison ( Vin Diesel) is brought back to life by a team of scientists. Enhanced with nanotechnology, he becomes a superhuman, biotech killing machine – Bloodshot. As Ray first trains with fellow super-soldiers, he struggles to recall anything from his previous years. But when his memories flood back and he remembers the man that killed both him and his wife, he breaks out of the facility hellbent on revenge, only to discover that there’s more between what he originally feels and to a conspiracy. Jeff Wadlow was hired to write the screenplay. [5] In April 2015, Sony Pictures, Original Film and Valiant announced a five-picture deal to bring Valiant Comics' superheroes to the big screen, including Bloodshot. Chad Stahelski and David Leitch were hired to direct the film, from a screenplay by Wadlow and Eric Heisserer. [6] Stahelski and Leitch eventually passed on the project. In March 2017, Dave Wilson was announced as the director of the film. [7] Screenwriter Adam Cozad later contributed to the script. [8] Casting [ edit] In July 2017, it was reported that Jared Leto was in early negotiations to star in the film as Bloodshot, [9] but in March 2018, it was announced that Vin Diesel would portray the main character. Fantasy island free movie maker. "De plane! De plane! " It was a cry we awaited every Saturday night, between the years 1977 and 1984. There was Tattoo atop the bell tower, announcing new guests to Fantasy Island. Palm trees, waterfalls, white sand and white suits. For Aaron Spelling, the whimsical drama was another hit to his credits. For most of its run, Fantasy Island piggybacked another Spelling series, The Love Boat, which similarly welcomed numerous famous guest stars week after week for romantic romps. The two shows were quite alike, in that a hospitality team cured tourists' problems in tropical locales. Of course, as its name implies, Fantasy Island had a much larger magical element. Though it was never explained, Mr. Rourke (Ricardo Montalbán) and Tattoo (Hervé Villechaize) were seemingly supernatural beings. Was it heaven? Was it hallucination? Whatever the case, it was pure escapism. Forty years after its debut, let's take a trip back to Fantasy Island for some fascinating facts. 1. The network wanted Orson Welles in the lead role. ABC pushed hard to have the venerable, if faded star as the show's headliner. At the time, the onetime Citizen Kane prodigy was making art films like F For Fake with his lover Oja Kodar. Despite the network's desire for Orson Welles, Spelling wanted Montalbán and won, obviously. Another legendary Hollywood director, John Huston, was reportedly considered for the role of Roarke. Image: The Everett Collection 2. The network also wanted to replace Tattoo with "an attractive girl. " Fantasy Island began as two made-for-TV movies, in 1977 and 1978. Filming was underway on a third when the head of ABC, Fred Silverman, called Spelling and asked the film be cut in two halves. He wanted to turn the idea into the series. There was just one catch, coming from a lower-level network suit — they wanted to give Tattoo the boot. "We'd like you to get rid of the little guy, " the exec said, according to Spelling's memoir, Aaron Spelling: A Primetime Life. "We'd like to have an attractive, sexy girl for Mr. Rourke. " Despite his success with Charlie's Angels, Spelling stuck with his man Villechaize. Image: Sony Pictures Television 3. The idea for the show was a joke. Spelling was in a pitch meeting with the network and his big ideas were not going well. That lead to an exasperated joke from the producer. "Aaron was in his office, trying to sell a show to ABC, " his wife Candy recalled in an oral history for The Hollywood Reporter, "and I heard him say, 'What would you like me to do? The opening credits have something in common with 'M*A*S*H. ' The real fantasy island is Kaua'i, Hawaii. At least, that is where you can find the gorgeous waterfalls seen in the opening credits, Wailua Falls. Another memorable opening credits sequence featured a shot on the island — M*A*S*H. A shot of a helicopter flying over a mountain was also shot on Kaua'i. Image: Sony Pictures Television 5. In Ricardo's mind, Fantasy Island was purgatory. The backstory of just what Fantasy Island truly is — well, it's never explained in the show. But the lead actor needed some backstory for his character. He had his own beliefs about Mr. Roarke that he carried with him to guide his performance. "He's not the devil… what is he? What is he? " Montalbán mused about his character in an interview late in his life. "Even though the audience didn't realize what I was thinking… I decided this man was an angel who still had a little sin of pride in him… so he is in charge of purgatory, and he has his little cherub to help him. " Image: The Everett Collection 6. Hervé Villechaize was a teenage art prodigy. The French-born Villechaize was a fascinating but tragic man. "When we contacted Hervé about working in Fantasy Island, " Spelling recalled, "he was flat broke and living in a rather cheap transient hotel on Hollywood Boulevard. " The actor had previously appeared in the James Bond film The Man with the Golden Gun. Early in life, the Paris native was an art prodigy. He entered the esteemed École des Beaux-Arts at 16. Two years later, he became the youngest artist to have his work shown at the Museum of Paris. He learned English by watching soap operas, so he loved to proclaim. 7. Villechaize also occasionally played Oscar the Grouch on Sesame Street For the most part on Sesame Street, the shaggy green Muppet stayed put inside his garbage can. However, in the late 1970s, the show had Oscar on the move in rare occasion, walking about with his two feet sticking out of the bottom of the trash can. Villechaize was the performer inside the can. There was even a six-episode special in 1978 when Sesame Street traveled to Hawaii. Image: The Everett Collection 8. Montalban and William Shatner never filmed scenes together in 'Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan' The popularity of Fantasy Island led to a career revival for Montalbán, who was in his late-50s at the time. Most memorably, the Mexican star reprised his role as Captain Kirk nemesis Khan for 1982's Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan. William Shatner screaming, "KHA-A-A-A-N" is a classic moment, and a popular meme to this day. However, Shatner and Montalbán never worked together on the set. Khan never leaves his ship, and Kirk never boards it. Their conversations were filmed separately, due to the production schedule demands of Fantasy Island. Image: The Everett Collection 9. There is no such thing as "Corinthian leather. " Fantasy Island fame also brought commercial opportunities for Montalbán. Notably, he became the spokesman for the Chrysler Cordoba. In the ads, he sat in the interior and praised the "fine Corinthian leather, " hitting that second syllable hard in his melodious accent. It became a bit of a catchphrase. There was just one catch — "Corinthian leather" is entire made up. It did not come from Corinth in Greece. It was all marketing mumbo jumbo. The material mostly came from New Jersey. Late in the series, Villechaize grew demanding behind the scenes, asking for more money, and displayed improper behavior on the set. Though he is heavily associated with the show, the actor was kicked off Fantasy Island for the final year. Replacing him in the sidekick role was Christopher Hewett as "Lawrence. " Though it was a bit hard to recognize him without the mustache, Hewett was best known as Mr. Belvedere on the hit sitcom of the same name. The strange thing about this movie, is I suspect that everyone involved with its production probably already knew this movie would flop. Described as an " Action, Adventure, Comedy"... well, there was no real action and no adventure to speak of and as for the comedy; I guess one would have to be from the USA to appreciate it. For me, this was a very tedious and quite an unexciting movie. I only watched it to the end to see if it got any better, but no, it stayed the same all the way through. If this was supposed to be a parody, they missed the mark. There are other reviews that trash the plot and acting; I agree with them. I give this movie 1/10 Watch it if you want, but you'll be thinking, why did I bother... 2 out of 3 found this helpful. Crap film, can't believe I watched it to the end... ha ha! This film is so bad. It's like a primary school's attempt at a film project. Everything about it is so bad. I think that all the guys that were in the film were not as their acting was so effeminate (no disrespect to the gay community). Script was awful, the plot was pathetic, and everything else was just crap! 7 /10 Original I loved it! Great actors, funny storyline and though it's an indie movie they still made it work. BAD Everything about this movie is bad, acting, effects, actors and actresses. 1 star is even too much for this movie. 6 /10 Tongue in cheek What you need to have in mind when watching this movie is that it's a spoof and is all very tongue in cheek. It should not be taken seriously. Sure, the acting isn't great, but it isn't supposed to be. The leads both absolutely looked the part, there were some amusing support roles and the style was nicely observed. As a movie, it never quite took off for me and I never detected any real chemistry between the leads. But it is amusing, the bowling scenes with the cardboard salesman and the dancing at the dinner party were highlights for me. The line "A>B>C, Always be cardboard" had me laughing out loud. No classic, but not a complete dud either. This is a safe place Warning: Spoilers This is a mindless "spy" comedy/spoof. Corey (Drew Van Acker) is a top agent who lets a target getaway when he bumps into Pam (Poppy Delevingne). Corey is smitten and decides to give up the glamorous life of an international spy to sell cardboard boxes, bowl, and fix up their house with track lighting for dinner parties. Pam wants lots and lots of dinner parties. His former spy group kidnaps married man and holds an intervention. They convince him to go on one last mission, to have closure and get Egan (Max Silvestri) and his plans for a bomb or a laser or something that is bad. Corey has to balance his home life, work, spy work, and bowling while having a fake spy wife (Natasha Bassett) This is a fun film that uses silly spy cliches and has good characters. Not an overpowering film, but good. Guide: F-word. Near sex. No nudity. Had a good laugh Not to sure what all the bad reviews are about but the film wasn't bad at all. It's a hilarious movie we had some great laughs. Watch it, it's supper funny. Fake bad reviews from rejected actors So many fake 1 star reviews from people who admit they didn't make it more than 5 minutes into the movie. Why would I trust the word of a quitter. not a great movie but not bad. 4. 9 Such a fun romp! I loved what a fun movie this is! It is so incredibly unique compared to other movies out there. The movie is laugh out loud funny. I credit a lot of the laughs to Brittany Furlan and that spoof dance scene. But seriously, this movie gave me real Wes Anderson vibes with all the models and the kooky over the top spy world. It took a little while to really understand the film, but it was totally worth watching it through. This movie is clearly lower budget but it leans into that fact and it ends up with a quirky yet hilarious parody of the old school spy movies (very 60s Batman and Get Smart meets Wes Anderson). The widescreen scenes are very real and heartfelt while the 4:3 scenes are so full of satire and so well made. The way the actors interact with this outlandish world and these silly gadgets kept us laughing the whole way through. 2 out of 7 found this helpful. actually, they are all spies Just like you and me, in our trivial pursuit, for gollop and gossip, toput ourself on the list of the top 10 by the fence, speaking to your horrendously beutiful neighbour that youve eventually spied on for years with increasingly larger binocullars, to unbutton the real truth behind the sheet of cloth... well this film is as confusing as what ive just written should make sense to you and everyone else, but a spy flick it is, pretty much on turbo injection, it has its bores and flaws, but also some brilliantly made comedy here and there. its a mockingly take on the spy trade, with lots of inspiration from jens bond to mission impassible, where the glitchfree moneyspenders are the tough guys, and all the others, like we live our lives in a cardbox called mariage or what ever... its a comedy (full stop), with a score that feels like a spine in the buttocks, special effect at star wars episode one level, with a goal to harras all the english speaking population of the earth, me not included cause im norwegian hipp hipp hurra for det!!! otherwise its fast paced, there arent a moment of standstill and bore, and im sure itll only smear the tastebuds of just half the population of potential viewers. i the grumpy old man though, had a neat moment watching, a few giggles here and there, not top notched but still a passable recommend 5 out of 28 found this helpful. Entertaining spoof We found this movie quite entertaining, with goofy characters and funny scenes. The lighthearted approach was enhanced by interesting production design and fine editing. The movie uses such strong visuals to juxtapose the spy world, which is a world built of all models to the real world with Pam, which is a soft, muted, grounded world. The story is a little heavy-handed on the tropes, but strangely enough, it works. 4 out of 33 found this helpful. not a real movie. It is a cheap Wes Anderson knockoff of a B movie. This spy movie with a wink is fun to watch and something different from what we usually get served up by the big Hollywood productions. The special effects are brilliant. someone really got their hands dirty on those (I know how difficult plastic glue is to get off). A movie that'll make you laugh, unless your sense of humour has packed its bags and gone off on a spontaneous trip to, let's say, Kathmandu. So don't hesitate, grab yourself a domestic beer and sit back and enjoy, it's really worth the watch. 2 out of 17 found this helpful. Funny and different! We laughed a lot!! My wife an I just finished watching this film and we really loved i! It is very different than what we expected but in a cool way where we found ourselves really loving the characters. My wife laughed a lot especially at Brittany who plays the friend my wife remembers having when she was younger. The cast is pretty but that was just a bonus. First Star Wars film I didn't see in theaters, but was pleasantly surprised once I actually watched it. Tom Cruise looks like he's been through the ringer. 1: Reys new lightsaber is modeled after her bo staff 2: Its yellow blade (the combination of red and green light) is reflective of her identity outside of the Sith and Jedi, making herself an unaligned force user, burying the blades is symbolic of the end of the jedi.
We need more undeveloped characters and mary sues, also color hair women running the rebel alliance. Mon Calamari lives matters. Oh shit! No ones ever really gone, than we hear the EMPEROR CACKLE. jus seen new pet semetary and it it true, SOMETIMES DEAD IS BETTER.
Me when he was naming all the ships 🤯. Trying to pull on the heart strings with the original characters, nice try. She didn't say in I'm going to end it in the movie. 
Seberg the movie. Jack The Lad ! ❤. I have to say, I consider Breathless a comedy. And that final scene, where. okay, I won't spoil it, but man, what laughs.
Seberg parents guide. As a viewer who is very familiar with the work of Jean Seberg I simply can't accept Kristen in that role. She simply doesn't measure up to the character she is trying to play. She probably did well in the Twilight movies because she really has "dead eyes. Seberg was vibrant and alive in all of her roles, a talent Kristen has yet to develop. You only live Twice Mr. Bond. Yet another all mighty flop by Kirsten Stewart, she was completely wrong for the part and spends the entire film making stupid faces and putting in a one dimensional performance... how many times is Hollywood going to cast her in a film way beyond her ability, even Charlie's angels was utter rubbish and that's about her level. Get a proper actress for a film like this...
