This was were I was hoping everyone would die, Rey, Ben, Poe, Fin, Rose, everyone! Then it would be him ultra powerful after clapping everyone's cheeks. Palpatine straight up za handoed the sky. Star Wars: The Rise of a New Joke. 
First Star Wars film I didn't see in theaters, but was pleasantly surprised once I actually watched it. Tom Cruise looks like he's been through the ringer. 1: Reys new lightsaber is modeled after her bo staff 2: Its yellow blade (the combination of red and green light) is reflective of her identity outside of the Sith and Jedi, making herself an unaligned force user, burying the blades is symbolic of the end of the jedi.
Weird to see the happy ending in Episode 6 and then suddenly, Episode 7 openes with some woman in a dessert. PLOT TWIST: They're bringing back DARTH JAR JAR. The Rise of Skywalker it's not a bad action sci-fi movie, not at all, but not a Skywalker Star Wars movie either.
That's what happen if you don't respect your fans, and don't see a movie as a work that you have to communicate and tell something to the viewers.

Here you go, you have your franchise but you lost your fans the original Star Wars fans.
I will not spend time here to explain or justify what I saw plot holes etc that pre exist from the prequels and make clear that there is no vision in the Star Wars universe any more.
For me 4,5,6 was genuine space fairy tales and no franchise made movies: Action, plot twist, love story, lovely aliens and supreme evil. All come natural.
1,2,3,7,8,9 are mediocrities franchises, who strive to become movies, Star Wars movies.
6 stars, 4 for the movie, 1 for the love I have to the OT and 1 for the Palpatine that I adored once again.
p.s. Star Wars need a visionary script editor and director to write freely a new saga -fairy tale and not a franchise.

Production [ edit] Development [ edit] In October 2012, Star Wars creator George Lucas sold his production company Lucasfilm, and with it the Star Wars franchise, to The Walt Disney Company.
